The owner(s) of cuteoverload.com is/are a piece of work. I used to visit it their site everyday, until they featured the picture of a kitten in a mixer (unplugged, but I think we can all reasonably agree that kittens do not belong in mixers). I sent them an email to let them know that I thought the picture was sad and just not cute. They wrote me back and called me an oversensitive moron. Cuteoverload can go to hell.

You know, they could just want to keep the site happy, without the heavier issues. I'm not saying it's right, but I know a lot of people who use the site to avoid burnout and they don't need a flame war over animal rights.

Thank you for this post. I have shared on Facebook. I used to recommend CO to my other animal-loving friends—in fact, I recommended it just last week to a friend who was having trouble dealing with the horrific scenes of animal torture in the film "Whale Warrior," about Sea Shepherd's Paul Watson. I thought it was a place for people who cared about animals, even if not all of them had awoken to veganism yet. It's no longer a site I recommend or visit. I don't feel welcome.

On the serious side of this issue, to use the phrase “slipped
through” is incredibly disappointing. Someone has an opinion, expressed
it with no malice or rudeness, and because someone is uncomfortable with
it the consideration to delete it was on the table?
If the OP was rude and was insulting and/or guilting people I could understand.
I’ve submitted photos of my kittehs, both of which have been posted
on CO, and now I’m considering telling everyone to boycott CO.
I wonder if my comment will even get through…

I'm sorry but this came off as extremely (backhandedly) judgmental to me. Word of advice- don't EVER use something like 'you're not a bad person, you just haven't reached the point of your life where you understand what I understand". People will NOT take well to that. I have no problems with vegans or vegetarians EXCEPT for the judgement. Trust me, it hurts your cause way more than helps it.

I guess this article was geared towards vegans, but reading it as a (reasonable) meat eater, I felt like I was being preached to. This definitely makes people angry and they will push you and your ideas away. Thats a shame because I do think our society should be moving towards eating less meat (not none) but I think the judgment of vegans and vegetarians just pushes us farther from this goal. I'm sorry if I sound hateful, because i'm not- its just frustrating when vegans do this. Causes more harm than good.

Did this film mention anything about Imidacloprid. Because my friend who is a bee keeper tells me this is the main cause but the FDA won't recognize it cause it's obviously corrupt. "In France, beekeepers reported a significant loss of honeybees in the 1990's, which they attributed to the use of imidacloprid.." http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

And beyond that why can't the almond farmers have mobile bee hive farms they transport out to the fields and then bring to somewhere else after the three week flowering cycle? Seems like it would save money in the long run and probably generate incentive's for someone to do this.

I agree with you and have the same plan. We will have one bilogical child (I'm currently pregnant) and if we want more we will foster or adopt.

But I am against a restriction of having babys by law because that would discriminate the children that are "too much" although they can't help being born. Instead of that I think that all contraceptives should be free of cost.

I love my Vaute Couture coats, they are the best! I would buy from Cri de Coeur, but the shoes are too narrow for me! : (
